“Just a quick THANKS for your time last Friday at the Governor’s residence. You blew everyone away with an extremely inspirational message that fired everyone up! Thanks again! You are a great person and a wonderful speaker!"
~ Mike Wanetka,
Wellness Coordinator - State of Nebraska

“We really enjoyed having Coach Revelle speak at our Booster Club Kick-off Party! She did just an excellent job speaking to our group! She was able to connect with the students, parents and facility throughout her speech. She made us laugh while inspiring us with great stories. We received several compliments on her speech from those in attendance. Our group would highly recommend Coach Revelle to any organization, and we would love to have her back again next year!"
~ Marla Wortmann,
Hartington Wildcat Booster Club

“We invited NU Head Softball Coach, Rhonda Revelle, to help us kick off our school year at Cross County High School. Rhonda did a great job and our students, parents, staff and community members enjoyed her immensely! Not only did she deliver a wonderful message, she is a very genuine and super nice person. Any organization who hires Coach Revelle is in for a real treat! She represents all that is good in athletics and is a tremendous role model for people of all ages."
~ Brent Hollinger, Superintendent, Cross County Schools

"I would like to commend and thank you for your inspirational address to the Downtown Athletic Club luncheon this afternoon. I was tremendously grateful for the heartfelt wisdom that was delivered to those young athletes through your address. I came to the luncheon knowing absolutely nothing about you other than the fact that you were the women's softball coach at UNL. However, I left the luncheon moved by the passion of your mes-sage, impressed by your insight and ability to communicate, and encouraged by your boldness in proclaiming your commitment to following the calling of the Lord in your life. I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to hear a message full of wisdom, humility, compassion, inspiration and the truths of the heart instead of another 'the world is yours for the taking' message full of goals that are most likely unattainable and motivation that is at best misguided. You gave those young athletes a tremendous gift this afternoon. You gave them tools not just to help them achieve the ultimate success on the athletic field, but to also achieve the ultimate success in life."
~ Mark T. Walz, Treasurer
Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Nebraska

"What can I say but WOW! I have been receiving extremely positive feedback since I left The Devaney Center! Not that the audience didn’t like our other speakers, but you hit it out of the park with our membership! I really appreciate your time today to address our group. It was a very appropriate message that you tied into our theme so very well. The personal stories made it so real…your first job; Faye; the Destiny poem; the story of being proud of the name on your paper; 1 Corinthians 13; embracing your fears. And then the quote of the day from Steve Jobs when I got back to my desk - just tied it all in so well. I sent that out to the group as a follow-up to your speech. It was such a pleasure to share you with the rest of the University today. Thanks again for your time and energy. It was truly inspiring."
~ Cathy Robertson
President, University of Nebraska Office Professionals Association

"Thanks so much taking your time to come and participate in our "all school" assembly. Your messages were great, you were fun and energetic, and I, along with others, loved it!
Hope you have a great softball season. I love sports…Go Huskers!"

"I cannot begin to tell you the number of people who were taken by your presentation. UNK professors, college students, principals, sponsors, and our students at the event were all engaged in your presentation.
There were many principals and others who have asked me for your email address, so they could extend their thanks as well. Do not be surprised by the number of possible responses. I am sure you will be asked to speak again at our event sometime in the future."

RHONDA REVELLE
A Champion On and Off the Playing Field

BIO:

Rhonda Revelle has been a champion on and off the playing field while living in Lincoln and coaching since 1993. The Head Softball Coach at the University of Nebraska, Revelle has earned praise for her team-building skills, her ability to develop and maintain a winning program and her dedication to community servitude.

On the field, Revelle is a member of the Nebraska Softball Hall of Fame and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Hall of Fame. She has won seven conference and regional Coach-of-the-Year awards during her Husker career, including 2013. Off the field, Revelle has been honored with the Dr. Barbara Hibner Trailblazer Award and the 2003 Downtown YMCA Volunteer of the Year award.

Revelle has also served in a variety of administrative roles in addition to her coaching duties. She served as Nebraska’s Senior Woman Administrator, becoming the only female coach in Big Eight, Big Ten or Big 12 history to serve in a dual coaching and administrative role. She has also served as the NFCA President three times. Closer to home, Revelle has served as chairperson for several charitable campaigns in Lincoln, including the UNL United Way Combined Campaign, where under her leadership, the 2005 Campaign raised its highest dollar amount ever!

Rhonda was an All-Big Eight player for Nebraska from 1981 to 1983, helping lead the Huskers to their first conference title and the inaugural Women’s College World Series in Omaha in 1982, the first year softball was an NCAA sport.

After the Huskers program fell on hard times in the early ‘90s, a coaching change was made and Nebraska turned to the then 29-year old Revelle to lead the Huskers program. The gamble of selecting a young coach to lead one of the sport’s premier programs paid off. It took Revelle just three seasons to return Nebraska to the NCAA Tournament and only six years to bring the Huskers back to the Women’s College World Series. Overall, Revelle has won more games at Nebraska (989 following the 2019 season) than any other coach in any sport in Husker history.

Since returning Nebraska softball to the postseason in 1995, the Huskers have made 20 NCAA Tournament appearances, while finishing in the top 20 15 times and in the top 10 eight times. Overall, Revelle’s success has helped Nebraska softball rank among the top 15 programs in NCAA history in wins, NCAA Tournament appearances, NCAA Tournament victories and Women’s College World Series appearances.

In addition, Revelle has coached 14 softball Academic All-Americans in her first 27 seasons at Nebraska.

Nebraska softball has also been an active member of the community during Revelle’s tenure. The softball program won Nebraska’s Life Skills award in 2010-11 when the team was honored as Nebraska’s most active team in the community.
